Log a sick day

Sick days pull your HRV, resting HR and recovery off your usual. Logging them keeps your normal ranges based on your healthy self, and Today tracks your way back.

Steps

Step 1 of 5

What a sick period changes

  • Charts. Sick days are shaded and labeled SICK.
  • Your normals. Sick days are left out of trends, normal ranges, session and sleep effects, and correlations.
  • The morning call. While you're sick and not back to baseline, the call stays Swap. You can turn this off in Advanced settings (Swap while sick).
  • Today. A Back to baseline? card shows your resting HR and HRV against your healthy normal, and how many mornings in a row you've been back.

Ending it

  • Tap I'm recovered on the Back to baseline card. The period ends yesterday, so today counts as a healthy day.
  • Or set an End date on the period in Settings.

The card shows once each morning. Swipe it left or tap the check to tuck it into a Back to baseline row for the rest of the day. Tap the row to open the full card.

Good to know. ZONAL is for training and wellness. It doesn't diagnose illness and isn't medical advice. If you feel unwell, talk to a doctor.

Questions

Can I log a sick day after the fact?

Yes. Tap Add sick period, then change the Start and End dates to the days you were sick.

What's the Note for?

It's for you, like "head cold". It shows next to the sick date on the Back to baseline card. It's never shown in reports.

How do I delete a sick period?

In Settings, tap Remove on that period. A toast lets you undo it.
