Signal watch
Signal watch is an early heads-up. Every morning it checks five of your signals against your healthy normal, and speaks up when several drift the wrong way at once. You'll find it on the Body tab.
Steps

The five signals
Each one is compared with your last 28 healthy mornings. A signal is off when it's about 1.25 usual swings away in the wrong direction:
| Signal | Off when it's |
|---|---|
| Resting HR | Higher than normal |
| HRV | Lower than normal |
| Breathing rate | Higher than normal |
| Skin temp | Warmer than normal |
| Blood oxygen | Lower than normal |
All clear, Watch and Flag
The pill at the top of the card gives this morning's status: - All clear: "Nothing is drifting." No more than one signal is off. - Watch: two or more signals are off this morning. "Worth keeping an eye on." - Flag: three or more are off this morning, or two or more were off on 2 of the last 3 mornings with skin temp, breathing rate or blood oxygen among them. "Consider an easy day."
That last rule needs skin temp, breathing rate or blood oxygen because a hard workout can move HRV and resting HR on its own.
Reading the card
- The grid shows the last 14 scored mornings, one column each, with today on the right. An orange square is off, a dark square is normal and a striped square means no data.
- Temperature trend under the grid averages your last 3 nights of skin temp against your normal. If you've run warm 3 nights or more in a row, it says so.
- See temperature trend opens the chart.
- See recent flags lists every Watch and Flag morning from the last 45 days, the signals that drifted on each, and when you were back. A morning after a heavy day is marked, since hard training moves these signals too. It also shows how often Signal watch has fired on your healthy days.
Good to know. Signal watch starts once your normal is set: 28 healthy mornings. Until then the card shows how far along you are.
Signal watch is a pattern check for training and wellness, not medical advice. If you feel unwell, talk to a doctor.
Questions
I got a Flag but I feel fine. Should I worry?
Not by itself. A hard day, alcohol, a late night or a warm room can all move these signals. Treat a Flag as a reason to take it easy and see how tomorrow looks.
Why does a signal show striped squares?
WHOOP didn't record it that morning. Missing signals don't count as off.
Can I make it more or less sensitive?
Yes. Go to More, Settings, Advanced settings, Signal watch. You can change how far a signal has to drift and how many signals it takes for Watch and Flag.
